In this portrait, painted around 1820, a young woman is depicted wearing the most luxurious clothing and exquisite jewelry.

The costume and jewelry are of course indicative of the wealth of this woman and this portrait certainly conveys this message. The artist had a perfect command of technique, the face and details have been rendered with remarkable delicacy. The precise identity of the artist remains elusive, but it is clear that he was exceptionally talented.
