Very beautiful and Interesting miniature brilliantly executed by Charles Guillaume Alexandre Bourgeois.

The young man in the yellow vest certainly posed for the artist in the years 1800-1805. With his usual mastery, Bourgeois does not seek to flatter his model, the features being in no way softened in favor of a benevolent expression. The attentive gaze is fixed on the spectator. The amazing vividness and realism of the image are considered the main feature of the master's work. The mouth tightens, the eyes become almost threatening. This is all the talent of the artist whose clientele appreciated the somewhat marked expressions and uncompromising art.
